You can use alt code shortcuts or emoji keyboard to type these tool emoji symbols in Mac, Windows and smartphones.
1. Insert Tools Emoji in Windows
There are many ways to insert tool emoji in Windows computers.
Alt Code Method
Hold the alt key and type the decimal code from the below table to insert the corresponding symbol. For example, alt + 128296 will make hammer emoji like 🔨.
Alt + X Method
On Word documents, type the hex code and press alt + X keys to convert the code into an emoji. For example, 1FA93 + alt + X will make axe emoji like 🪓.

Using Emoji Panel in Windows
If keyboard shortcuts are not working then use the emoji panel in Windows. You can open emoji panel by pressing “Windows Logo + Semicolon” or “Windows Logo + Dot” keys with any application. Type “tool” in the search box to filter related emoji symbols and insert in your document.

2. Insert Tools Emoji in Mac
You have two options to insert these symbols in Mac.
Using Option Code Shortcuts
Similar to Windows, you can also use alt codes in Mac with option key and hex code. However, you have to change the input source to Unicode Hex Input. In addition only 4 digit hex codes will work with option key in Mac. For example, option + 2699 will make gear symbol like ⚙.
Using Emoji Panel in Mac
Mac has emoji panel app called Character Viewer that you can open by going to “Edit > Emoji & Symbols” menu from any app. You can search and insert tool emoji symbols on your Pages and Keynote documents.

3. Insert Tool Emoji on Mobiles
On Android and iPhone, you can insert these emoji symbols by switching to emoji keyboard. Below is the screenshot showing tools symbols in iPhone keyboard.

4. Insert in HTML Documents
There are two ways to insert these emoji symbols in your website or any HTML document.

- Symbols will look like solid 3D symbols in Apple devices while they will be showing as line diagram in Windows Office documents.
- The same emoji may look different on different applications.
