How to Use These Shortcut URLs in Microsoft Edge?
You can simply copy and paste the shortcut URL in the browser’s address bar and press enter key. This will take you to the corresponding settings page where you can make changes or view the options. Make sure not to use HTTP or HTTPS protocols with the URL when using these shortcuts. Otherwise, Edge will try to access internet webpage with the HTTP/HTTPS URL and show the page cannot be accessed error. Below is the explanation for using “Delete Browsing History” settings with shortcut URL.
In order to delete the browsing history, you have to go to “Settings Icon > History > Clear History” menu. This will open the clear history pop-up where you can select the time and delete the history. With shortcuts URL for Microsoft Edge, paste “edge://settings/clearBrowserData” in the address bar and hit enter. This will open the same clear history pop-up.
Remembering all those shortcuts URL is a difficult task. What you can do is to add frequently used shortcuts as your favorites. You can name the favorite like “Delete History” and use it with single click.
Note: Most of these shortcuts are same with Chrome as both the browsers use the same Chromium engine. You need to remove “edge” in the shortcut and replace it with “chrome” to work in Google Chrome. Check out the complete list of shortcuts command URLs for Google Chrome.
