Your Windows 10 PC allows you to login with multiple options. The default option of using Microsoft account can be changed to use local account, PIN, image password, finger print or face id. If you are good at remembering numbers compared to passwords then setup a personal identification number or PIN for unlocking your computer.
How to Setup PIN Password in Windows 10?
Open the “Start” menu and go to “Settings” section. From there go to your “Accounts” settings.
Navigate to “Sign-in options” and scroll down to PIN section. Click on the “Add” button to setup a PIN. Remember PIN is an additional login options which means you should have and existing password login with Microsoft or local account.
You will be prompted to enter the current password for setting up PIN. Enter the password to proceed further.
On the next screen enter your PIN and click ok to complete the setup. Now that you have successfully setup a PIN for your Windows 10 login.
Login with PIN
Logout or lock the system. You will see the login screen is changed now asking you to enter PIN. Also you can see “Sign-in options” link for entering the password in case if you want to login using the password.
Changing or Removing the PIN
Anytime you can change or remove the PIN. This will not affect the login as the password will be used for login automatically. Go to “Start Menu > Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options”. Click on “Change” or “Remove” button to change or delete the PIN option.
On the next screen you will be prompted to confirm the removal of PIN. There will be a warning shown indicating the Windows Hello will stop working when you remove the PIN. Click on the “Remove” button to go ahead and remove the PIN from login options.
