How to Add Facebook Like and Share Buttons in Weebly?

Weebly allows you to share your content on Facebook and Twitter (X) whenever publishing the site or blog post. You can also integrate Facebook comments for your blog to get feedback from users. In addition, Facebook like button allows the users to share your content with their friends network in a single click. Follow the below step by step process to get a Facebook like button and embed it in your Weebly site.

Facebook Like and Share Buttons

You can add Facebook Like or Share or both the buttons anywhere in your Weebly site like inside the content area, footer or header. The buttons will look like below when you are not signed in to your Facebook account. It will show the total likes with an option to sign up.

If you are signed into your account, then there will a tick mark on the Like button along with the total number of likes for that page.

Though it is possible to use any page URL to generate the button code, it is a good ides to use your Facebook Page so that users can like or share that page.

Generate Facebook Like and Share Buttons Code

It is not necessary to login to your Facebook account for generating the button code.

• Click here to access Facebook social plugin page for like button.
• Scroll down to “Like Button Configurator” section where you can find a form. The appearance of the Configurator form may vary in mobile and desktop Facebook sites, but the process remains same.
• Fill your site’s URL in the “URL to Like” box. If you want to get more like for your Facebook Page, then add your Facebook Page URL in this box instead of your website address.
• Width – type the width in pixels based on the layout of your site.
• Layout – select one from standard, box_count, button_count or button option.
• Action Type – select like or recommend from this dropdown.
• Button Size – select small or large button size.
• Check “Include Share Button” to add share button in your display.

• You can see the instant preview of your like button below the Configurator form.
• Click on the “Get Code” box to get the code for your like / share button.

Copy IFrame Code

You have two options to insert like button in your site – JavaScript SDK and IFrame. Go to IFrame tab and copy the code as shown in the below picture.

There are multiple ways to insert the code on your Weebly site depending upon where you want to show the button(s).

Adding Like Button in Weebly Page Content

• Login to your Weebly account and edit the site in which you want to add a Facebook like button.
• Go to “Pages” tab and select the page.
• Drag and drop an “Embed Code” element in the content area where you want to add the button.
• Paste the Facebook like button code inside the Embed Code element and you will see the like / share buttons appear as shown below.
• Publish your site to apply your changes.

Inserting in Single Page Header or Footer

If you want to insert the like button on single page’s header or footer area, follow the below steps.

• When you are in Weebly editor, go to “Pages” tab and select the page where you want to insert the code.
• Click on the “SEO Settings” button and paste the code in “Footer Code” or “Header Code” section.
• Publish your site and the buttons will appear on the header or footer area of the page.

Insert in Entire Site’s Header or Footer

If you want to add the like button for the whole site, then go to “Settings” tab in Weebly editor. Go to “SEO” section and paste the code in “Footer Code” or “Header Code” section. Click the “Save” button and then “Publish” to apply your changes.

In case if you notice a space below the button, then publish your site and check it on a browser window. The space probably will disappear on the published site.
