Weebly offers a simple and easy to use site builder tools to help webmasters building their own site in minutes. The power of Weebly lies in the customizing options it provides for webmasters. Most of options are available under site “Settings” tab in the Weebly editor . Free options can be modified directly whereas you can see the upgrade or pro button for paid options. General settings provide simple options for changing the site address and title any time after you published your site. Site title is shown in search engine results and hence you can change it to check the performance of your ranking till the time you get the desired result.
There are paid options like SSL, Favicon and Site Password available under general settings tab. You can also group excess pages into more in the navigation menu and enable Facebook sharing of your content.
Online Store Settings
With the introduction to business plan Weebly added a new tab “Store” in the editor. Clicking on the “Store” tab in the “Settings” will bring you to the “Store” tab under Weebly editor.
Here you can customize your product element and online store. We recommend to use these settings only if you upgrade to business plan which will cost you around $24 per month. Otherwise you can simple enable “legacy mode” to retain existing settings for your product elements under “Store > Settings > Display” as shown in the below picture. SEO is an important tab as the purpose of any site is to list top in the search engine rankings. Here you can provide site description which search engines use in the result pages. Though meta keywords are not used by search engines its a good idea to provide related keywords in “Meta Keywords” section.
Copy and paste the Google Analytics code in the “Footer Code” section in order to track your site’s traffic and paste the Google Webmaster Tools code in the “Header Code” to verify your site. Enable Mobile Redirect
Weebly offers free mobile optimized site and in order to enable your mobile site you just need to enable the the check box under Mobile Settings option. This will redirect the users to your mobile optimized site when opened in a mobile device.
Weebly Blog Settings
All blog related settings are available under “Settings > Blog” section. Here you can enable or disable commenting, remove blog sidebar and do much more customizing of your blog.
Under Editors Tab you can provide authorization for the users having permission to edit your site details. Free users can add as many as administrators for site maintenance who will have access to the complete site. Archive and Unpublish
Click on the “Create Archive” button to archive your entire site. You will be notified through your email once the archiving is completed and you can download the latest archives any point of time from your Weebly account. It is highly recommended to backup your site in periodic intervals to avoid loosing the content due to any unfortunate instances.
You can also un-publish your site any point of time after you published your site.
Copy & Delete Weebly Site
Weebly also offers you to copy your existing site into new Weebly site. You can select Copy Site under More options and provide the necessary details to copy your existing site. Note you can’t copy a Weebly Blog, you can only copy a Weebly site. Learn more about Weebly drawbacks.
Weebly Design Settings
Design tab in the editor also provides many other setting options related to your site design. You can customize the font of each element types, enable social icons in the header and edit your CSS/HTML to modify the source code.
