Weebly offers unlimited number of pages with no limit in the size for free users and with no ads. This is one of the simple reason why free users choose Weebly for building their sites. Each page in your Weebly site can be customized to suit your requirement and can be different from other pages in the same site. All options relevant to page settings are available under “Pages” tab in the Weebly editor. This article explains various Weebly page settings options to build and effectively promote your Weebly pages in search engines.
Adding Pages to Your Site
Add more pages to your site under “Pages” tab and Weebly offers four basic type of Page Layouts when you create a new page.
- Tall Header Image
- Small Header Image
- No Header Image
- Landing Page
You can choose your page layout to adjust the content and header image area and each page can have different layouts. You can add a standard page, a blog, a store, a product page and an external link.
Under page layout selection you can select the check box for hiding your page in the navigation menu and setting a password for your page. You can also copy the complete page with content to a new page or delete the page from your site.
Weebly Page Layouts
In addition to the four standard page layouts offered by Weebly you can add a splash page and other layouts. Choose “Edit HTML/CSS” option available under Design tab to add a new page layout of your own as shown below:
Creating Sub-Pages
If you want to create a sub- pages in the navigation menu like “Home > Blog > Forum” then you can just drag the Blog and Forum pages to right side and these pages will automatically become sub page of your Home page.
After publishing it will work like a mouse over function, once you move your mouse over Home tab then Blog tab will get extended and then Forum will get extended. This drop down can be horizontal or vertical based on your theme selection.
Drag and move the page up or down to sort your pages in the navigation menu.
Advanced Page Settings
The advanced settings provide various options at page level to optimize your pages for search engines. Page titles and description entered here which will be shown in the search engine result pages. You can add analytics tracking code in the footer code section and Webmaster Tools verification code in the header code section. You can also hide your page from search engine by enabling the check box “Hide this page from search engines”.
