  • Page Name – when creating a standard page, Weebly will add the name as “New Page” by default. Just delete the default name and type a custom name for your page.
  • Hide in Navigation – by default, Weebly will add all created pages in the top navigation menu. If you do not want to show the page name in the menu, then check this option.
  • Header – as mentioned above, select the page header layout.
  • Visibility – click on this button to set a password for your page or make it accessible only for members.
  • Copy & Delete – You can also copy the complete page with content to a new page or delete the page from your site.

Advanced SEO Settings

The “SEO Settings” provide various options at page level to optimize your pages for search engines.

  • Page Title – shown in browser’s title bar as well in search engine result pages.
  • Permalink – Weebly will assign your page name as the URL. However, you can change the URL of your page by entering a custom address in this box. Make sure to separate each word with hypen and avoid using special characters in the URL.
  • Meta Description – add a short summary of your page in “Page Description” box which will be used as meta description by search engines and shown in the search results.
  • Meta Keywords – you can add the keywords in this box. However, this is no more used by Google and other search engines. So, leave this box empty for all your pages.
  • Header & Footer Code – add your Google Analytics tracking code and Webmaster Tools verification code in the Header Code section. If you have any other custom JavaScript, insert it in the Footer Code box.
  • Hide this page from search engines – you can also hide your page from search engines by enabling this check box.

    2. Is there a related content widget for weebly? I havn’t found one!
    3. When I add categories to my blog posts, like dessert sub page for recipes it links back to the same page. It should show all the dessert pages of my site. How to do that?
    4. I am thinking about switching to wordpress because of these problems but I don’t know html or css. Is it a good option? wordpress or weebly which one is safer from hackers?

      1. Paste the complete URL in the search box and check whether it is showing in the results.
      2. Use external services like AddThis, Outbrain, etc.
      3. Category should link to category archive page, looks you are missing something here.
      4. If you are looking wordpress.com then both are in similar category. If you are looking wordpress.org then you need to invest plenty of time.

  2. Hello

Wha can we do with the “main” page when we create sub pages so that they are not blank in case somebody clicks on it by mistake.

    Thanks

    James

  3. Hello,

I really hope you can help. On weebly I have a landing page and another 3 pages created as blogs. I would like that every time we post a new article on the blog pages to get an update on the landing page automatically in a ‘New Posts’ section. Would that be possible?

    Thanks in advance
    Andreea

You can use feed reader element to do this. Also you can burn blog feed with feedburner or any other feed readers and embed the feed to show latest posts.

  4. Weebly did this months ago but your account preceded the date on which their policy changed, like mine apparently did, you can add new websites to your grandfathered account and still have no page limit.

I wanted a new account for an organization to which I belong because I didn’t want their new website to be on my account since eventually there would be a new ‘webmaster’. So, I have set them up with a free Wix account which still has no page limit, I believe, although there is a storage limit.

Weebly has restricted the page limit to 5 for free account and 10 for starter account, so not much useful if you want to build a big content site.
