About Favicon Generator Tool

What is a Favicon?

A favicon, short for "favorite icon," is a small icon associated with a website that typically appears in the browser's address bar, tabs, bookmarks, and sometimes in search results. Favicons provide a visual representation of the website and help users quickly identify and distinguish between different websites when multiple tabs are open. Favicons are usually square-shaped images, typically 16x16 pixels or 32x32 pixels in size, though higher resolutions are also supported for better display on high-density screens. They are often saved in the ICO (icon) file format on Windows platforms and in PNG format on other platforms.

Note: platforms like WordPress call it as a Site Icon and you need 512x512 size image. Learn more on how to use favicon in WordPress.
