Integral is a mathematical function used in calculus. You can type integral equations in Office documents using Equation editor. However, when you simply need to type integral symbols, it is easy to use keyboard shortcuts. Unlike equation editor, keyboard shortcuts help you to type the symbols like normal text characters aligned with other content on the document.

### How to Type Integral Symbols?

**1. Type integral symbols in Windows**

When you want to insert integral symbols in Windows based documents, use the alt code shortcuts as given under “Windows Code” column of the above table. For example, `alt + 10776`

will make integral with times sign like ⨘.

**2. Shortcut for Word documents**

In Microsoft Word document, you can use the hexadecimal code as given in the last column of the above table. For example, `2A19 Alt + X`

will make integral with intersection symbol like ⨙.

**3. Using Emoji Panel in Windows 10**

On Windows 10 computer, you can open emoji panel by pressing “Win + Semicolon” keys. Go to “Symbols > Supplemental symbols” section to find all integral symbols. Click on any of them to insert on your document.

**3. Typing integral symbols in Mac**

If you have Mac, use the “Mac Code” given in the above table. For example, `option + 2A1C`

will make integral with underbar symbol like ⨜.

**Note:** First method of alt codes will work only with numeric key pad, therefore you can use the second method using normal keyboard number keys. For the third method on Mac, you have to change the language input method to Unicode Hex Input and toggle the input from the top menu bar.

### HTML Code Example

If you want to insert integral symbols in HTML, use one of the format given in the below code example. Note, only the integral symbol ∫ has entity name ∫ and use decimal and hexadecimal codes for other symbols in the given format.

```
<span>∫</span>
<span>∫</span>
<span>∫</span>
```

### CSS Code Example

Similar to HTML, you can also insert the symbols in CSS using the hexadecimal code. Below is the code example and you can use any font-family in the code.

```
li:before {
content:\222B;
font-family:Arial;
}
```

Remember, as mentioned you should use equation editor or software like LaTeX for mathematical documentation. In Office documents, go to “Insert > Equation” to open equation editor. Click on “Integral” dropdown to get various integral symbols and create equations.
