Using Emoji Keyboard in Windows
If the keyboard does not work, then you can use the emoji panel in Windows computers.
- Press “Win Logo + Semicolon” shortcut keys to open emoji panel.
- Type the name of the emoji like “mouth”.
- This will help you to filer mouth related emoji symbols.
- Find mouth emoji and click on it to insert.

Type Body Parts Emoji in Mac
Though you can use alt key shortcuts in Mac, these emoji symbols shortcuts will not work. However, you can use Character Viewer app similar to Windows emoji panel.
- Press “Control + Command + Space” keys to open Character Viewer app.
- If you see smaller app, click on the small symbols icon on the top right corner of the app to make it bigger.
- Go to “Emoji > Smileys & People” section.

Insert Body Parts Symbols in Mobile
Both Android and iOS platforms offer emoji keyboard. For example, follow the below instructions in iPhone.
- You can switch the keyboard input from text to emoji by tapping on the globe icon (on Android phones you should switch by tapping on the emoji icon).
- Tap on the “Smiley” icon on the bottom row to filter the related symbols.
- Find the body part symbols and tap on to insert in any text input boxes.
Skin or Color Tone Variation
Some emoji like nose and ear offer color tones. You can click on the color dots in the emoji panel to change color tone for the emoji. This will help you to insert the same emoji with different color tone.

However, they will be in black and white text when you insert in Windows based Word, Outlook or PowerPoint documents. The advantage here is that you can apply text effects to the emoji symbols to make it beautiful. Disadvantage is that color tone emoji like ear and nose will not work.

As mentioned, you can scale emoji like any other text content on your document. However, the display will be different, especially when sharing documents across Windows and Mac platforms. This could be a problem for certain usage like a teach sending a document to students who may access the document in different platform like iOS, Android, Mac or Windows. In addition, new emoji like lungs and anatomical heart are not supported in all applications.
