ConvertPlug is one of the premium popup plugins for WordPress available in the market. It helps site owners to collect email ids from the users. The collected email ids are generally used for sending newsletter and discount coupons through email marketing services like MailChimp. In this article we will explain how to integrate ConvertPlug plugin with MailChimp in your WordPress site.

- Free or premium MailChimp account
- Admin access to WordPress admin panel
- Purchased and installed ConvertPlug plugin on your WordPress site
How to Integrate ConvertPlug WordPress Plugin with MailChimp?
- Get MailChimp API key
- Install MailChimp Addon for ConvertPlug
- Create Campaign for collecting emails
- Assigning campaign in modal popup
Step 1 – Getting API Key in MailChimp
In order to integrate ConvertPlug with MailChimp, the first step is to get the API key from your MailChimp account. Login to your account and navigate to profile section. Go to “Extras > API Keys” section.
Scroll down to “Your API Keys” section and click on the “Create A Key” button. New API key will be instantly created which can be seen under “API key” column as shown below:
Copy the API key from the text box and keep it in a separate text file.
Step 2 – Installing MailChimp Addon for ConvertPlug
Purchase ConvertPlug plugin from codecanyon and install on your WordPress site. The second step is to login to your WordPress admin panel and navigate to “ConvertPlug > Addon” section. Install MailChimp addon and activate it.
Step 3 – Creating New Campaign
Go to “ConvertPlug > Connects” menu and click on “Create New Campaign” button. Choose “MailChimp” from the dropdown for syncing email collection with ConvertPlug. The MailChimp option will be available only if you have installed the addon.
Click on the “Next” button and enter your MailChimp API key you obtained from the step 1.
Click on “Create Campaign” button to create a email campaign.
Step 4 – Assigning Campaign in Modal Popup
The last step is to create a modal popup from the menu “ConvertPlug > Modal Popup > Create New Modal”.
Provide all required parameters for your modal popup and choose the campaign name under “Submission > Collect Leads Using” section.
Publish your popup to make it live on the site. The emails provided by users will be synced to your MailChimp account and you can manage the subscribers from there.
