Bluehost offers a special Bluehost affiliator plugin for WordPress users which helps to integrate referral link banners inside post editor and sidebar widget. Bluehost Affiliator Plugin for WordPress
Follow the below steps to setup Bluehost affiliator plugin on your WordPress site.
Step1 – Downloading Bluehost Affiliator Plugin
Bluehost does not offer this plugin within WordPress repository, you need to download from your affiliate account and upload it into your WordPress site. Login to your Bluehost affiliate account and navigate to “links > widgets” section. Under “WordPress affiliator” section click on “download plugin (.zip)” to download the file into your local PC or mac.
Step2 – Upload Plugin to Your WordPress Site
Login to your WordPress admin dashboard and navigate to “Plugins > Add New” section. Click on “Upload Plugin” button as shown in the below picture:
Choose the zip file download from Bluehost and click on “Install Now” button to extract the plugin content into your WordPress site.
You can also upload the extracted plugin folder into “/wp-content/plugins/” directory using FTP or File Manager from your hosting account cPanel to install the plugin. Upload the zip file without extracting if you install from WordPress admin dashboard. Upload the extracted folder (not the zip file) if you upload to plugins directory.
Step3 – Activating Plugin and Adding Affiliate Username
Once installed successfully click “Activate Plugin” to activate the Bluehost affiliator plugin.
You will be prompted to enter your affiliate username to link your Bluehost affiliate account to WordPress.
Once set your affiliate id, check the id under “Settings > General” to verify.
Step4 – Adding Banners in Sidebar
Navigate to “Appearance > Widgets” section to see a new option “Bluehost Affiliator” is added. Just drag and drop this button into your sidebar to add an affiliate banner to your site. You can customize the size and variations as you can do in Bluehost affiliate account.
Step5 – Adding Banner inside Post
Affiliator plugin will add an icon inside WordPress post editor as shown in the below picture.
Click on the icon to add your affiliate banner inside post or page content. You can also customize the size and variation of the banner.
Step6 – Testing Your Affiliate Link
Once you published your WordPress site click on the Bluehost affiliate banner and check in your affiliate account. There will be an entry recorded under “stats > referral links” section.
You can use cloaking plugins to hide your tracking URL and show custom URL.















Hi I am trying to add my :”Your Bluehost affiliate ID is empty. Set Affiliate Username” Tab
but when entered and pressed, it doesn’t go beyond that.

Does this process not work on Mac? I’ve spent 2 days trying to get this to work with no success.
This is to install WordPress plugin, no relation with Mac or Windows.
hi, is there a way to change the banner you have put if you are not happy with it after. I want to use a different type and I don’t know how to remove the one I currently have.
You need to go to the posts / pages and change the banner.
