1. Install and Synchronize Your Gmail Account
If you are using Gmail account on a laptop or PC, then the greatest tip is to turn on desktop notifications. And add a Gmail account to the email application on your PC. So, if an email arrives, you can get notified and you don’t have to visit the Gmail web app, which takes around half a minute to load. This saves a lot of time and you can keep yourself updated all the time.
If you are using Gmail account on a mobile phone, be it an Android or an Apple iPhone, you can install the Gmail app. The Gmail app sends notifications and you can reply to an email even from the notification bar. If you receive too many emails, then control the notifications to receive only during specific time.
2. Disable Promotion and Social Media Tabs
Gmail has more than 5 tabs that get loaded every time you open your account. You can disable or enable these tabs according to your need by going to Gmail settings. Click “Configure Inbox”.
You can enable and disable the tabs.
Enabling these tabs will separate primary emails from the rest. Whereas Smart Compose Personalization allows predictions and suggestions according to your writing style. These features help in speeding up email writing.

The next three settings appear alternately in Gmail settings. These are very smart features that you can turn on to speed up your process of emailing.
4. Nudges
Nudge is an email efficient tool that you can enable in Gmail settings. This tool is an optimization feature that sends notifications to the user to respond to important emails. This feature also sends a reminder to the user to follow up on an email that hasn’t been responded to by the receiver.
5. Send and Archive
When an email arrives, Gmail app sends a notification. The user can send a reply from notification bar. With the notification, one can choose to have two options. Send and Archive. The user can post an instant reply, or can achieve the email. Archiving is actually just cleaning up the Gmail account. You don’t have to delete the email, instead you can just set it aside. Later you can look for the email in “All Mail”
6. Smart Reply
Smart reply can also be enabled from Gmail settings. This feature suggests three to four responses that you can send as a reply to the email. This is a really great feature. Sometimes you need to send just a “Thank you” or an “ok”. With a single click on the suggestions given by smart reply the response will be sent.
7. Importance Markers
Gmail offers this option in the settings. You can click on either “show markers” or “no markers”. This feature does an analysis of incoming emails and determines if it would be important for you to see. It does it on the basis of your previous correspondences and how directly a message is addressed to you also determines its importance. 8. Make Two Users for a Single Gmail Account
Sometimes, you maybe busy and want someone else to send emails from your email id. In this case, you don’t have to let them login into your account. In fact, you can simply add them as a user of your Gmail account. Gmail allows a setting where you allow another email address to access your Gmail account. This will allow others, for example, your assistant to send emails on your behalf. There are further options such as “Mark the conversation as read when opened by other” or the other way around that “Leave the conversation unread when opened by other”.

9. Disable Unused Third-Party Services
Many websites these days require you to sign in first. And the option that we usually go for is to sign in through Google account which is through the use of our Gmail. Google account provides settings where you can disable third party services and unused applications. This takes some load off the Gmail account.
10. Canned Responses
Canned Responses are customized/ personalized messages that you can send as a reply to an email. Enabling this option in Gmail, lets you send common messages through a button on the compose toolbar.
